I like this recipe because it is quick, easy and full of flavor. The ground beef can be served over rice or in lettuce wraps. This is one of my quick go to dinners when I am feeling like wanting take out! It takes less time to make than to order in.
Prep: 5
Cook: 15
Serves: 4
Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef
3 cloves garlic, minced
½ yellow onion, minced
2 green onions, thinly sliced
½ cup coconut sugar
1/4 cup coconut aminos
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes
½ teaspoon ground ginger
lettuce leaves for serving
Directions:
In a bowl, whisk together coconut sugar, tamari, sesame oil, red pepper flakes and ginger until mixed well.
In a large skillet add the ground beef and using a wooden spoon, begin to break up the meat.
Add the minced onion and garlic to the ground beef. Using the wooden spoon, break up the clumps of beef as you incorporate the onions and garlic to the meat mixture.
Cook the meat mixture until it is no longer pink, about 8 minutes. Drain off any excess fat and put meat back into the pan.
Stir in the sauce mixture from the bowl into the ground beef mixture. Cook for 3 minutes over medium heat.
Turn off the heat. Add the sliced green onions and stir.
Serve the meat over rice or in a lettuce leaf.
